Chidoka, who noted that he needed to re-jig his brain to improve himself, said the decision to study at home became necessary to conserve the country’s foreign exchange and boost the nation’s economy.
He said after eight years in government, he was taking time off to study and plan the next line of action. “More importantly, it is an opportunity to conserve Nigeria’s foreign exchange because I would have gone abroad to study as many people do, but for those of us who are thinking of how to make Nigeria a sustainable society, this is one of the ways we can sustain Nigeria by investing in our own country and committing to use the facilities in our own country,” he said.

Speaking on his choice of university, he pointed out that Baze ranked well among all the universities he had been to and had world class facilities that could compete globally.
The Pro-Chancellor of the university, Senator Yusuf Datti Ahmed, in his remarks, urged the matriculating students to view their presence in the institution as an opportunity to make their parents and sponsors proud.
“This is the time to start steering the wheel of your life towards the right direction. What Nigeria needs at this moment more than ever before is a group of determined young men and women who are competent and determined to overcome all obstacles on the parts to success,” he said.
While appreciating the parents who despite the difficult economic situation in the country still commit to quality private education, he advised the students to follow the laid down principles to make their dreams come true.
